Our parade is the highlight of the days event and marks the official opening of the Festivities. With over 1000 participants the parade showcases shools, youth groups, sports clubs, dance groups, marching bands, drummers, classic cars, Harleys & Scooters, military vehicles..... and so much more.
Every year the parade grow bigger and more and more people take part.
The annual parade is headed up by St George, the town crier and the Mayor of Richmond upon Thames.
The parade contains over 1000 participants from local youth and sports groups, schools, scouts, guides, as well as marching bands, Indian Drummers, Storm Troopers, Stilt Walkers, Cartoon Characters and mascots. The parade finishes with the Harleys, Scooters, Classic Cars and Military Vehicles.
The highlight of our parade is definitely the motor vehicle section. Made up of Harleys, Classic Scooters, Military Vehicles and Classic Cars (of which at least one has to be pushed part of the way)
The sight and sound spectacular is not to me missed, and many of the participants hang around for several hours so that you can can see their machines and chat to the owners about them.
